Spicy Duck – Taj Palace Hotel

As many of my readers may know, I have been staying at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi for about 20 years and during the visits many years ago, I frequented my favorite restaurant in the hotel,  Tea House Of  The August Moon.  It was a Chinese restaurant in the hotel and in my opinion, the best one in town! It unfortunately closed down in 2009, leaving a void…a void that has now been filled by Spicy Duck.  As they say “As one door closes, another one opens”.

Air India – Washington DC to Delhi, India

Honestly speaking, I was not sure what was in store for me when I chose to travel from Washington, DC to Delhi India for my most recent trip.  This was indeed going to be a long flight and I was feeling a bit apprehensive as it was a direct one.  With a plethora of airline choices, you may wonder why I chose to fly Air India for this particular choice.  With having a substandard experience in the past, I was a bit skeptical about how this flight would go.  I decided to go in with an open mind and my experience shaped my new opinion of Air India.

Asia Seven – Ambiance Mall, Gurgaon

Want some great, authentic Asian food in Gurgaon?  Asia Seven is a must visit if you are looking for great food accompanied with courteous service.  You know that a restaurant is authentic when there are a lot of Asians dining in.  I asked the chef what sets you apart from other Asian restaurants.  He told me that most specialize in either Chinese or Thai dishes…Asia 7 incorporates those and many other regions of the orient to have one of the most diverse Asian menus in town.  The dishes will satisfy many pallets…. thanks to all the variety.

Punjab Grill – Saket

I have been to Delhi many times, and not once did I visit The Select City Walk Mall.  For those of you that know me well, you know that I try to avoid malls and prefer local markets where I can get the feel of being in India!  Well, I never knew what I was missing…until this trip.  On the third floor of this mall, I saw a restaurant called Punjab Grill.  Hmmm, I thought to myself, I reviewed a Punjab Grill earlier this year in Abu Dhabi…could this be the same one?  As I approached, I noticed the logo was the same…I was getting excited in hopes that it would be the same type of restaurant that I sooooo enjoyed in Abu Dhabi.

Punjab Grill – Abu Dhabi

Sometimes, making spontaneous plans works out to be incredible.  Such is the experience I had when I stumbled on this place in Abu Dhabi called Punjab Grill.  I was touring the Grand Mosque, which by the way I should also write a review on as it was amazing…and after soaking in the breathtaking mosque and taking hundreds of photos…I was hungry!  I was with a few friends and we all agreed that Indian food would hit the spot after the long drive to Abu Dhabi from Dubai and after the long tour of the Grand Mosque.

American Tandoor

I don’t know about you…but when I shop,  I tend to get hungry.  I need energy to continue with the shopping or sometimes, I like to end my shopping experience with a nice meal.   Wouldn’t it be great to have something really tasty, I thought to myself.  NO, I don’t want to quick slice of pizza from the food court, or the greasy fast food….  There are many restaurants in Tysons that I enjoy…but I feel like trying something different, something satisfying.  As I wander around, I see a table of samples, rice and butter chicken, in the mall.  Hmmm, this is unique marketing I thought.  When I looked, I saw this sign on the table:

The ITC Grand Chola Hotel does not look like your average hotel…it has the look and the feel of an actual palace.  The hotel is so big that there are several main entrances…and they use specific ones based on the location of events in the hotel.  Let me share some of my personal experiences with you:
